About the Network

This section of our website will give you some background information on Co Wexford Age Equality Network, including who is involved and who we work with.

Our Network is an alliance of many different individuals and groups, from the ageing sector in Co. Wexford, who come together to co-operate, work in partnership and share their wisdom, their exeperience and to learn from each other in order to make Co. Wexford an Age Friendly place to live, work and grow old in.

The wider Network meets around four times a year. The day-to-day operation of the organisation is guided by an Executive Committee that meets every 6 weeks.

Apart from meetings, members receive monthly information updates, by post, email and text.

Core activites the Network is involved in include:

  • Training, community education, life-long learning opportunities
  • Fostering older people's participation as active citizens
  • Engagement with policy and service provision that affects older people locally
  • Research, consultation and planning with members
  • Promotion of age equality and intergenerational solidarity in Co. Wexford
  • Collaboration with other organisations with similar aims, both locally and nationally
