Main Venue: Hospital Meeting Room

Times: The Committee usually meet on a Monday night approximately once per month. Other volunteers are welcome to participate in the social activities programme between 10.30 and 12.00 noon, 1.30 – 3.30p.m. on week days. Visits to residents are welcome at other times (excluding meal times). Volunteers can be required for other one off events e.g. shopping, outings etc. so advance notice of times and durations of these events would be given

Activities: Residents are offered exercise, games, arts and crafts, music, reminiscence, hand massage, story telling, reminiscence, outings and other activities as requested by the residents

Cost: None

Get Involved: Anyone who is over 16 years can become involved. Gard Clearance will be processed by the Volunteer Co-ordinator. Two written references are also requested and parental permission for those aged between 16 and 18 years.

The Friends of St John’s Hospital is involved in fund raising for equipment and the provision of activities which will improve the quality of life of the Hospital residents. Volunteers, who must have Garda Clearance, can become involved in the life of the residents by participating in the social activities programme i.e. exercise, games, arts and crafts, music, story telling, reminiscence, outings, attending spiritual services.
