Pre-Budget Reminders

10 Oct 13

Next Tuesday's budget looms and older people may once again be the target of numerous indirect cuts.

Many of the national organisations representing older people have already submitted to the Government on behalf of their members, but if anyone would like to remind the local politicians of the real implications of any further cuts in this area it would be beneficial. Nothing works like the local angle and local politicians do like to keep in touch with their constituents.

An email or a phone call, in a politie, but respectful manner will only strengthen the case for protection of services and benefits for older people, but always be firm and direct about what you want. If the issue is already on the national agenda, a local message will get it noticed.
